COSTA DA MORTE TRIP

On Tuesday we went to the Costa da Morte.
I think they liked it very much because the scenary is very diferent from Holland. I also like the beaches in Holland. They have dunes but they haven't rocks.
We crossed the stream and we climb the rocks.

The Farewell dinner

All parents of the spanish people made differents dishes, tipical of Spain.
Omelette, patatoes salad, tuna pie, rixóns (pork), crepes, cakes, etc...
At the dinner cames the parents, the people of the exchange project and the friends of the spanish people.
After eating, the students say goodbye. Every people cry :(

ON THE BEACH

On Wednesday we went to the beach in Caion. The waves were very big and the water was very cold but we swam and played games on the beach.

The last day in Galicia

THE FAREWELL FESTIVAL

This is the farewell festival in the theatre. It was funny and interesting. I think we have a great time. The festival was very exciting bacause the performances were interesting and funny.
This is the performance by Naomi and Rosanne.
They sang the eurovision song for Holland.
We made a festival on Friday. It was very funny.

The First performance was anabbolic band. This band is formed by Manu(first guitarist), Tony (second guitarist), Roi (battery) and Nacho (Singer)

They sing rock songs. This group is very nice.

After anabbolic, we made a dance. We danced to rock around the clock. The song was old but the dance was very funny and very beautiful.

Them, Rosanne and Naomi sang a english song. They made their performance very well.

Finally performance was tamara perez. She made a play back with a Hanna's Montana song!

The opinion of Youri

I have been here for a week. I stayed whith Roi. His parents were very nice. I learned a lot. We have to speak English all the time. Spain is very different from Holland. The lunch is at 14.30 hours. In Holland we have lunch at 12.30 hours. We have a sandwich, but in Spain they have a big lunch: pizza, meat, salades .....

In the evening we eat at 18.00 hours, in Spain they eat at 10.30 hours. For us its very late. Once I had a hamburger with patatas: in Holland we call them chips and eat them as a snack. I loved it anyway.

We saw a lot: A Coruña, Santiago, tower of Hercules and a lot of nature. I loved Santiago the most. The church was very nice. We saw the smoking pot and hugged the apostel: all my sinns are forgiven. Lucky for me.

mara and marloes

the first day with the group

hello i´am remco and tell you about the first day in spain
the first day with the group:
The first day we went to the hercalus tower, a tower in La Coruña and then we are still in la coruña walked and if you wanted you could just look in the shops. coruña is a beautiful city with so many mounds as something harder to walk as in the Netherlands.
hercales the tower:
a large tower on the coast of La caruña where you can walk up a staircase.
it was nice to see but zwwarde to have to walk upstairs.
itself, I find it a fun tower at a time to go.

la couña:
is a beautiful city with a large fish trade you a mile away all the fish smell. I myself have a Youri Quinty and walked around town.
Greetings remco

The spanish students in the airport

Here we are in the airport in A Coruña to go to Holland. We were very nervous.

Photographs

Youri and Roi the last they in the airport

One day, we went to the funfair in Brielle. We went on some rides, and we had a great time. But it was raining a lot and we went to eat.

In the beach :)

In this photo, Rosanne, Emmely (her sister) and me are in a beach near her village. The beach is almost all flat, but there are some sand dunes. In Holland there are a lot of dunes, but there are not rocks, like in Galicia. I could see how are the beaches there and I liked them.

Rotterdam

The second day we went to the Rotterdam. It's a big city. It's different from other citys in Holland because the buildings are tall and modern. In Holland the architecture is very traditional. The houses are small and old.

In Rotterdam we visited a tower. Its name is Euro maast. It's very tall and there is a fantastic view from the top.

In Rotterdam we had fricandelas and chips with mayonase for lunch. I didn't like fricandelas but the other people liked them.

SEADFOOD
FILLOAS

LACÓN CON GRELOS

TORTILLA

EMPANADA

THE MOST TYPICAL DISHES IN GALICIA

In Galicia, we´ve got many good dishes. At Chritsmas we usually eat seadfood and meat. Then, in February we have the carnival and we eat something like pancakes. We also eat "lacon con grelos". It´s the front legs of the pig cooked with vegetables and potatoes. Like in all places, we´ve got Mac Donals and sometimes we eat hamburgers. We eat a lot of "tortilla". It´s a kind of omelette. It´s a mixture of potatoes and egg. People who come from all countries love "tortilla".

Another typical food is "empanada". It´s a pie cooked with tuna fish.

Galician landscape

O Courel mountain
The land isn´t flat, it is irregular with not very high mountains.

Praia das Catedrais/ Cathedral beach:
In our beaches there are rocks and clifs, The beaches are small because the cost is very irregular.

WE HAVE A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE

In Spain, people speak Spanish, but in somes regions people also speak another language. In Galicia, we speak Spanish and Galician. This language is similiar to Portuguese, so we can comunicate with people from other countries where they speak Portuguese like Brazil,Mozambique, Portugal... When you come to Galicia, we will teach you some words in our language, so you can speak with our parents, brothers and sisters.
Galician language is in danger, because there are a lot of prejudices against it. A lot of people in the cities (A Coruña, for example) think that speaking Galician is not elegant, so they prefer to speak Spanish. In the villages ( A Laracha ) people like speaking Galician, because it is the language of our parents and grandparents, so we love it. We can speak Spanish, too.

Galicia

Galicia is very different from the rest of Spain. Here, the weather is worse than in Spain, it rains a lot. The good thing, is that there are a lot of woods, the grass is always green. The bad thing is that, in winter, We can't go to the beach. In the weekend, the young people, meet with friends or go to cinema or we stay at home, playing computer games and watching TV.
The summer is fun, we go to the beach a lot of days. In summer there are street festival at night, with an orchestra, concerts. The people dance and sing, eat traditional food and have fun.
